When an organization applying for accreditation meets all the requirements for the requested accreditation, Swedac makes a decision on accreditation. The decision consists of a decision letter, an annex detailing the scope of the accreditation, and an accreditation certificate.

The decision letter contains the formal decision, Swedac’s reasoning behind the decision, as well as information on the requirements for accreditation. It also states that the accreditation is valid indefinitely without a time limit. There are exceptions where the decision is time-limited, for example, in the verification of greenhouse gases and the certification of food, and this will be indicated in the respective decision letter.

The annex detailing the scope of accreditation contains information about what and for which tasks the organization is accredited. The contents of the annexes are available on the Swedac website.

The accreditation certificate provides an overview of the accreditation in both Swedish and English and can be used by the accredited body to demonstrate its accreditation in dealings with external parties.
