A regulation is a generally applicable rule adopted by parliament, the government, an authority or a municipality.
What are the rules that apply for accreditation, legal metrology and precious metals is largely determined in Swedac regulations, also called STAFS. STAFS is an abbreviation for “Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment regulations”. Most often contain Swedac regulations detailed rules on something that the government has decided in an EU regulation or a directive.
Swedac issues regulations in different areas and accreditation regulations on fees for accreditation. The Authority also issues regulations for legal metrology and precious metals.
